Women's Final Four brings $100,000 grant for breast cancer research to Dallas

"A Dallas research professor has been awarded $100,000 to study an aggressive form of breast cancer, thanks to the NCAA’s Women’s Final Four tournament.

Dr. Angelique Whitehurst plans to use the Kay Yow Cancer Fund grant to help understand why certain cancer cells are resistant to chemotherapy.

Every year the Kay Yow fund gives money to institutions in the Final Four host city. The fund collaborated with the V Foundation for Cancer Research to award Whitehurst's grant."
